this is the sort of photo that i normally don't share because it's a snapshot i guess and i keep them to myself, but i am happy to have this in my gallery because i spent a lot of nice times in that place and had lots of talks and lots of thoughts, lots of serenity.
this is where i live, this is my balcony and beyond the snow there is our lake.
last night the heaviest snowfall yet happened and all day the sky was gray but then this beautiful sunset came out of nowhere right on the edge of twilight and lasted all of 2 minutes. it was the greatest thing i've seen in a long time and i am glad that i wasn't staring at the wall somewhere and got to see it, the light was so brilliant across the snow.
bokeh on the far right is about 30 or more icicles which are out of focus and being illuminated by this sunset. we have had them hanging from the eves before but most of these are currently 1 metre long and by tomorrow they'll have grown down to the balcony bars. those to the left are nearly a metre.
anyway, canon 50D, canon ef 50mm f/1.4
